Altar Servers
Altar Servers (youth)– Contact: Adam Rewa, 616-527-3610
Altar servers, grade 5 and above, assist the priest at Mass. They are scheduled on a rotating basis about once a month.
Altar Servers (adults) – Contact: Adam Rewa, 616-527-3610
Adults are needed to serve as altar servers for funerals, other special liturgies, or in the absence of youth altar servers.
Hospitality Ministers

Greeters welcome people as they arrive for our weekend liturgies and help to ensure the comfort and ease of all who celebrate the Eucharist with us. They are assigned in small teams on a rotating basis. Family members could serve together in this ministry.

Lectors

Lectors proclaim the first and second Scripture readings and offer the prayers of petition at weekend Masses. They are scheduled about once every 2 to 3 months. This ministry is open to fully initiated Catholics at least 16 years of age, who can read and enunciate well.
Extraordinary Ministers of Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Communion – Contact: Toni McKay, 616-527-3610
Ministers of the Eucharist help distribute Holy Communion at weekend Masses. They are scheduled on a rotating basis 1 to 3 times per month. This ministry, open to Catholics in good standing who are confirmed and at least 16 years of age, is a way to nourish one’s own faith by serving others.
Extraordinary Ministers of Communion to Green Acres Retirement Living – Contact: Mary Ziegler, 616-902-5683
Ministers of Communion bring the Eucharist to Catholics residing at Green Acres each week.
Extraordinary Ministers of Communion to Heartland Health Care Center – Contact: Toni McKay, 616-527-3610
Ministers of the Eucharist lead Scripture and Communion services at Heartland Health Care Center each week, then visit Catholics unable to attend the service, in their rooms. Ministers are scheduled on a rotating basis.
Extraordinary Ministers of Communion to the Sick and Homebound – Contact: Mary Ziegler, 616-902-5683
Ministers are assigned to bring the Eucharist to one or more homebound parishioners each week.
Music Ministry

The Adult Choir, open to high school students and adults, rehearses weekly and sings at some weekend Masses. Choir members also prepare and sing for special liturgies, such as Christmas, the Easter Triduum, and First Communion.
Cantors lead the people in singing hymns and responses at weekend Masses and other special liturgies. They receive special training and must demonstrate prayerful song-leader ability.
Faith Leaders – Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Liturgy of the Word with Children is an engaging, interactive worship experience for children. We encourage all youth, ages three and up to share in this spiritual experience during weekend liturgies. Themes are determined by the Sunday Lectionary. Many weeks include fun activities to help the children relate more closely with the message of the readings.
Sacristans

Sacristans help prepare the church and chapel for weekday and weekend Masses and other liturgical celebrations.
